Saturday

With Stuart leaving the house at 8:30 am and getting home at 6pm, we only have about an hour before Kai has his bath. During that hour, we have to get everything ready for bed and eat our dinner so it’s usually a little rushed and we often don’t get time to even hug each other in passing.

Soooo..I am dropping Kai off with my father on Saturday for the first time and I’m not entirely sure how I feel about it!

He won’t be staying long, only an hour or two to give me and Stuart some time away but it seems so weird to think he won’t be coming with us. We are planning to go to a coffee shop after we’ve dropped him off and just sit and watch the world go by. I wish that they would come here and watch him, but they are scared of the dogs. I do understand that, as they are large dogs, but it does make things harder in the long run as my father lives over 30 mins away and I have to transport everything over to him!

More importantly though, how on earth do you leave instructions for someone that you know has done it all before (as you’ve turned out alright)? How am I going to be able to say, this cry means that he probably wants to sit on your lap and watch the room and that cry means he’s hungry etc. How can you explain to someone what YOU just KNOW?
