Today Kai had 14 hours of sleep and 21.5 ounces of food. Probably because he ate it all yesterday!

I had a lovely relaxed day with little drama today as babba very kindly slept through most of the day that Daddy was at work.

The only problem that we really had was that the days and nights are getting much colder now and as we do not have any central heating in our house (only a couple of gas fires and a standalone oil filled tiny radiator) we are having to try and find ingenious ways of heating the rooms that we are in after Kai’s bath.

I think we cracked it last night by putting the oil filled radiator in our room (where Kai sleeps) and putting his towel on there to warm up so he could go straight into  warm towel after his bath and put his pyjamas on there to warm while we are drying him and putting his nappy on. He was much more content after bath time for a change doing things that way!

Felt quite good as lost two pounds this week, so a total of 1 1/2 stone since I gave birth (21lbs). It was even more impressive as had a takeaway of fish and chips yesterday and a caramel doughnut tonight. I guess I deserve it after all of the breakfast and lunch fiascos this week…. didn’t realise it would help me to diet! Only have another 2 stone to go (28lbs) but I’m expecting that to take forever to lose so am not holding my breath. Would love to look in the mirror and actually like what I see again instead of focussing on the flabby middle and sea of stretchmarks. I’m taking each day as it comes with my weight loss, as before I got pregnant I lost 3 stone in 6 months to prepare for my wedding in September last year. I just remember how hard it was and having to resort to the Atkins diet to shift the last 14lbs!

Had a bit of a weepy morning as haven’t had much sleep over the last few days (hence my lovely husband coming back home from work with my caramel doughnut - which happens to be my favourite!). I am very much looking forward to the days that baby and I can actually understand each other… although I’m sure they will come with their own trials and tribulations!

Finally, looking forward to January time as this is when I am allowing myself to buy some new clothes, get a haircut and possibly a new tattoo to celebrate Kai’s birth. I think my weight will have stabilised a bit by then and I can see if I am likely to continue losing weight or stay the same for a while. The below picture is of the wings on my back which was taken on my wedding day last year. I am thinking of possibly having Kai’s name written down the centre, but not sure if this will then look overcrowded. Oh well, food for thought!
